Treat each location as a tested configuration
A wallet payment working at one counter does not demonstrate that a new location’s terminal, network connection and reporting setup behave identically. Build an acceptance test for the actual equipment and merchant account before staff begin public service.
List the supported checkout journeys and devices the provider expects the location to accept. Keep the scope specific. A logo on promotional material should not replace confirmation of the integrated system’s supported behavior.
Follow a permitted test to the records
Ask the provider how to run approved tests. Inspect the customer receipt, order history, transaction reference and payout report. Verify that the location and merchant account are recorded correctly rather than assuming the new terminal inherited every intended setting.
EMVCo’s tokenisation resources provide background on wallet-related payment credentials. Staff need a practical lookup procedure for the actual provider. They should not ask a customer to disclose unnecessary card information merely because a tokenized reference looks unfamiliar.
Test service after the sale
Demonstrate a void, full refund and partial refund where supported. Include a case in which another authorized employee handles the inquiry. Record which screen supplies the original transaction and which role can perform the financial action.
For a Florida merchant using a temporary or seasonal location, confirm what happens after that location closes. Customers may still need receipts or refunds. Assign responsibility for historical transactions and retain appropriate reporting access through the supported process.
Review the operating handoff
Give staff a short guide covering success, uncertain status and escalation. A sound or animation should not be the only basis for deciding that the business completed a transaction. Confirm the result in the approved merchant system.
Review the first complete reporting cycle for misassigned locations, missing references and unexplained adjustments. Correct configuration problems while the evidence is easy to trace. Keep support contacts and provider responses with the test record.
Repeat relevant tests after a terminal replacement, software update or account change. A location rollout is complete when staff can accept, explain, reconcile and reverse the supported payment journeys, including the less convenient cases that a demonstration may omit.
